Gotta love the smart, heads-up play by Broncos receiver Brandon Stokley in the final seconds of the Broncos-Bengals game.
No, I'm not talking about catching the tipped pass by Bengals defensive back Leon Hall and racing down the field for an 87-yard, game- winning touchdown for Denver. Sick play, though.

I'm talking about how Stokley was smart enough to know that when he reached the 1-yard line, and there were no Bengal defenders within the city limits, there were only 16 seconds left. Rather than run it north-south for those final three feet en route to a 12-7 lead (and eventual win), he ran east-west along the 1-yard line to kill a few extra seconds off the clock. He scored with 11 seconds left.
After the kickoff, that left the Bengals with just five seconds to complete a Hail Mary.
Had Stokley just ran it in, Carson Palmer conceivably would have had time to complete a short pass and get himself a few yards closer for a Hail Mary into the end zone.
